The problem is, if we use/support Remi's repo now, we are probably stuck 
with it. I don't know if there will be an (easy) migration path back to 
EPEL8 later on...

We didn't switch to Remi for CentOS 7 as it wasn't really needed... 
everything worked pretty well with PHP 5.4. The SCL repositories didn't 
provide php-(lib)sodium so we couldn't use those, unfortunately.

There are currently no packages for CentOS 8. You could try to make your 
own CentOS 8 eduVPN RPM repository based on scripts available and adding 
Remi repository to "mock". See [1] for the scripts. The documentation is 
not entirely up to date for the "new-builder" branch...

I'd be very interested to hear if that works! I may look into this 
myself in the near future...I'm kinda curious now if that would work :-)
